I've been slipping into avant-garde territory lately, and I like that. but none of my work has really felt particularly personal to me -- I spent a lot of time and concentration into putting them together. Sometimes, when the tracks were finished, I didn't feel like I connected with them at all.

What we have here is essentially the first entry in a recovery journal. I let the mic roll and let whatever happens happen. This is volume 1 -- each volume will deal with my (surely slow) recovery and how it relates to music.

This is all spoken word and piano improvisation, and a little bit of "performance art". Be forewarned: I have no formal training in piano.

This is essentially a sonic diary I'm making the decision to publish because I know there are several of you who will take something away from it.

Enjoy.

But you probably won't.

Even I wish I hadn't recorded these.
